Abstract

384,063. Casting composite articles. PARKINSON STOVE CO., Ltd. and YATES, S. F., Station Road, Stechford, Birmingham. Nov. 19, 1931, No. 32059. [Class 83 (i).] Patterns. - I n making a mould for casting ovendoor frames &c. with cast-in hinge - pins, the pattern 4 has a boss 5 with a hole 6, in which a pin 3 is carried and a passage 16 so that, after moulding, a tool can be inserted from the back to move the pin clear of the boss and into a sleeve 8 as shown in Fig. 9. The pattern and mould are then inverted, the passage 16 closed by a plate 11 and the other side moulded. The mould halves are then drawn, the pin 3 is withdrawn from the sleeve 8, as shown in Fig. 11, by tools which engage a hole 13 and a keying groove 7, and the halves are assembled ready for pouring.
