Abstract
383,763. Wrapping jars &c. BIGGIN, H., 11, Pye Nest Road, Halifax, Yorkshire. Dec. 14, 1931, No. 34553. [Class 94 (i).] An appliance to facilitate the hand wrapping of bottles, jars, and the like, comprises a board A adapted to be supported on a work desk at an incline, and having jaws K, L adjustably mounted thereon by means of wing nuts M engaging bolts G, the other ends of which engage in a slot E. The positions of the article N and of the wrapper T are determined by members U, R, longitudinally and transversely adjustable by means of a nut P. In use, the jaws are adjusted to a width corresponding to that of the jar &c., and a gumming board X is moved to the position shown in broken lines. The wrapper is placed across the jaws and the article superposed, as shown in cross section in Fig. 4, and the edge W gummed by a brush. The opposed flaps are now turned down on to the jar and the upper end closed, and the jar is reversed to allow the bottom to be closed. The jaws K, L may swivel to accommodate tapering objects.
