Abstract
382,863. Loud-speakers. DAY, W. J., ROGERS, W. A., of Universal Gramophone & Radio Corporation, Ltd., Ryland Road, Kentish Town, and MATTHEWS, D. E. R., 21, Bedford Row, both in London. March 17, 1932, No. 7991. [Class 40 (iv).] A moving coil loud-speaker of the type employing a relatively small diaphragm which sets up sound vibrations in an acoustic horn comprises a diaphragm A having a circumferential flange B which is adapted to be attached to a support C constructed of impregnated cloth, such as tracing cloth, and having a bent-up ring or flange portion E at its inner circumference adapted to carry the coil F which is preferably wound on both the inner and outer surfaces thereof. The inner portion of the support C is preferably slotted so as to facilitate the formation of the portion E and a second or reinforcing layer C<1> is also preferably provided. The two layers are clamped between the member G and a ring J on the magnet H.
