[Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii).] A trailer caravan is provided with a pair of laterally spac ed wheels each mounted on an independent axle with independent springing and located between the inner and outer members of double longitudinal side frames and also a substantial part of the vehicle floor, situated between the wheels, is movably mounted for lowering bodily towards or on to the ground to provide adequate head room when camping. The underframe of the caravan comprises members 12 .. 15 arranged as shown in Fig. 2, the space enclosed by the members 14, 15 being provided with the movable floor 19 which may be connected to the body by flexible walls 20, Fig. 3, or by rigid walls adapted to be raised or lowered as required. The ends of the body are sloped as shown in Fig. 1, and the corner posts 23 are tubular and contain telescopic rest bars. The wheels 30 are mounted on independent axles 34 detachably secured to springs 35 so that they may be removed from the inside of the vehicle, the housings 18 being hinged or otherwise movable as indicated at 18a. The brackets 40 secured to the springs 35 are provided with slots 42, Fig. 7, to allow the axle 34 to be dropped into the bracket, sleeve nuts securing the axles in position. The springs 35 are mounted on rods 37, Fig. 5, at one end and provided with preferably a cushioning and damping roller 47 at the other adapted to bear on an abutment plate 48, a checking plate 49 being also provided.
