Abstract
380,993. Speed-control mechanism for ring spinning frames. TRIOU, A., 170, Rue de Paris, Montgeron, Seine-et-Oise, France. Nov. 20, 1931, No. 32239. Convention date, March 31. Addition to 377,869. [Class 120 (ii).] In the mechanism described in the parent Specification the oscillatory movement of the rod 11, corresponding to the reciprocation of the ring rail, is imparted through a one-way clutch from the chain 39 which operates the cam shaft of the mechanism and moves in accordance with the reciprocating and progressive movements of the ring rail, and the connection of the rod 11 to the lever 9, Fig. 5, is constrained by a lever to move in an are about a pivot 51 instead of rectilinearly. The one-way clutch comprises a sleeve 37 and balls 40 which are normally urged by a spring 41 into a conical bore 42, so that when the chain 39 moves in the opposite direction from that of the arrow, they grip the rod 36 and operate the rod 11, and are free from the rod 11 when the chain moves in the direction of the arrow. During the latter movement the rod 36 is returned by a spring ; thus the rod 36 is oscillated in accordance with the reciprocation of the ring rail and the clutch is moved relatively thereto in the direction of the arrow in accordance with the ascent of the ring rail. When the cop is fullv wound an abutment 43 on the rod 36 engages a plunger 46 which is thereby moved beyond a spring 47 which locks the balls, as shown in Fig. 2, so that the sleeve moves freely over the rod 36 when the chain 39 is operated to move the ring rail to its initial position. When this position is reached a stop 44 on the rod 36 engages a sleeve 48 and restores the clutch to its operative condition.
