Abstract
380,818. Golf-bag supports. HARRISON, S., Cloverley, Horbury, near Wakefield, Yorkshire. June 23, 1931, No. 18122. [Class 132 (ii).] In a golf-bag attachment of the kind comprising a handle 2 slidable longitudinally of the bag and fitted with a solid or tubular downwardly directed extension 1, the spiked end of which may be thrust into the ground to maintain the bag in upright position, the handle is so shaped as to serve both as a carrying handle and as a stop to limit the upward and downward movements of the spiked extension. The spiked rod is slidable in sleeves 5, 9 secured to the bag, the upper sleeve being slotted to permit the passage of one arm of the handle. The spike may be retained in inoperative position by partially rotating the handle and engaging it within an offset slot 7 in the upper sleeve. The lower end of the spiked rod may be formed separately from the handle end and be removably connected thereto by a screw and socket joint.
