Abstract
380,793. Warp tensioning devices for circular looms. WEAVING MACHINES CO., Ltd., McEWAN, W. R., and VILLA, J. I., 7, Great Winchester Street, London. June 20, 1931, No. 17908. [Class 142 (ii).] In a loom of the type described in Specification 336,246, [Class 142 (ii), Looms, Kinds &c.], the warp threads 18 are tensioned by a flexible hoop or ring 16 guided by open slotted guides 11 carried by uprights 12 on the warp distributing ring 13, so that the hoop &c. can move radially at all points and be distorted from its normal circular form as the warp threads are shed, but cannot move axially. The hoop &c. is mounted below a fixed ring 19 and the healds 14, 15, but above the ring 13, and may, as shown, bear inwardly against the warp threads, or it may bear outwardly against the threads. The ring &c. may comprise a length of wire, one end of which has a socket to receive the other end. Specifications 374,562 and 380,794 are also referred to.
