Abstract
380,002. Closet-seats and seat-lids. BIRKBYS, Ltd., BIRKBY, A. T., and BIRKBY, F. E., Woodfield Mills, Liversedge, Yorkshire. March 19, 1932, No. 8218. [Class 26.] Covers and seats of water closets are formed of synthetic resin, casein, vulcanite, or fibre and have moulded into them pairs of parallel metal sockets a, b in which are adjustably secured arms D of a hinge-fitting which comprises pins E on which are mounted cups d<1> of the arms D ; pillars F are screwed into one of three tapped holes e in the pins and are secured as shown to a stationary member C. The arms D are cranked so that the pins E are located centrally with respect to the seat and cover. If desired the pillars F may be vertically disposed. In applying the invention to a seat only, the free inner ends of the pins E may be inserted in a sleeve member, and the arms D are not necessarily cranked.
