Abstract
379,508. Endless chain conveyers. RHEINISCHES ELEKTRIZIT€TSWERK IM BRAUNKOHLENREVIER AKT.-GES., 55, Kaiser-Friedrich- Ufer, Cologne, Germany. Aug. 28, 1931, No. 24297. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1930. [Class 78 (i).] A device for conveying ashes from the ashpits of boiler furnaces comprising an upper vacuum receptacle connected with an exhausting device and with the ashpits and a lower water reservoir comprising a device adapted to convey away the ashes is characterized by the vacuum receptacle and the water reservoir being connected by a shaft which contains moving means adapted to draw the ashes in the shaft downwards into the water reservoir. As shown in the Figure, the vacuum receptacle b for ashes is connected by a suction pipe a with the ashpits and to the suction means by a pipe c. Ashes deposited in the receptacle b pass into a chamber l connected to the water reservoir o by shafts m, n in which is arranged an endless chain conveyer p carrying pivoted paddles u, the axles of which run in guides v and effect the turning of the paddles into the vertical position at the bottom of the shafts to ensure the ashes being deposited on the conveyer t which removes them from the reservoir o. The chain of the conveyer may be adjusted by a tension- .ing device on the upper axle r. The paddles u close the shaft m and ensure the ashes being forced downwardly into the water.
