Abstract
379,115. Adjusting wireless apparatus. WHITTINGHAM, R. B. and PORTADYNE RADIO, Ltd., Portadyne Works, Gorst Road, North Acton, London. Sept. 18, 1931, No. 26156. [Class 37.] In an arrangement enabling quick adjust. ment of two tuning condensers of radio receivers to tune circuits associated therewith to the same wavelength, each condenser c, d is separately adjustable and is provided with its own scale, c<2>, d<2> one of these scales d<2> being arranged behind the other which is transparent, and each scale is provided with an indicating line c<3>, d<4>, the arrangement of the lines being such that when one is superposed on or intersects the other over a fixed hair line f or other fixed point, the two circuits are mutually in tune. The scales may be of the drum or the disc type and the lower scale d<2> may be graduated in wavelengths or otherwise. The condensers are arranged on the same axis and are actuated by knurled or roughened discs c<1>, d<1>, an escutcheon plate e being arranged in front of the dials and provided with a stationary hair line f.
