Abstract

Printing-ink is prepared by incorporating the colouring-material in a solution in a non-inflammable solvent of a resin which has been saturated by treatment with nitric acid so that an ink is obtained which dries rapidly without waiting for the oxidation of one of its constituents. The resin is treated with nitric acid of 36 DEG B<\>ae at a temperature of 160 DEG C.ALSO:Resins for use as ingredients of printing-ink are saturated by treatment with nitric acid. Suitably, the resin is treated with nitric acid of 36 DEG B<\>ae at a temperature of 160 DEG C.
