378,138. Hand-propelled vehicles. LESTER, A. W., 34, St. Leonards Road, Hove, Sussex. June 15, 1931, No. 17343. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (ii).] In a toy-vehicle resembling a rowing boat and carried on two rear driving wheels 5 and one front steering wheel 41, the operator is seated at 31 facing the direction of travel and propels the vehicle by means of a hand-lever 27 at each side pivoted in the base and connected through toothed wheels 25, 13 to an oscillating lever 15, the free-wheel end of which is connected to a reciprocating chain 19 engaging a free-wheel sprocket 21 on the corresponding rear wheel 5, the return movement of each chain being effected by a tension spring 23. The front wheel 41 is steered by means of pedals 53 connected to cross arms 51 on a vertical pillar 43, the wheel being under the control of a centralizing tension spring 47 connected to a rearwardly extending arm 45 on the pillar 43.
