Abstract
377,669. Boxes for storing and displaying confectionery. CRAWFORD, T., The Limes, Johnson's Road, Whitehall, Bristol, and CARSONS, Ltd., Shortwood, near Bristol. March 26, 1931, No. 9239. [Class 18.] A box for confectionery comprises a tray-like bottom A and removable side walls which engage within the flanges on the bottom ; and the side walls consist of two strips C each bent to form one corner D and provided at one end with a flap E whereby it is fastened as by metal clips &c. to the other strip, the two flaps E being situated at diagonally opposite corners of the box. The side walls may be opaque, e.g. of strawboard, woodpulp, &c., or transparent, e.g. of glass, celluloid, &c. A lid, similar to the bottom, is provided. According to the Provisional Specification, a set of opaque walls is formed from a single strip of material bent to tubular shape with one corner left open, or provided with an overlap, or sealed with paper or canvas ; or each wall may be separate : and the transparent walls consist of a strip : or four separate walls which may be loose, or jointed at several or all the corners ; or they may consist of two pieces of material each of which comprises one of the long walls and two flaps constituting halves of the short walls, and the abutting edges of the two pieces are left unfastened or fastened with a metal or other clip, &c.
