Abstract
377,418. Lawn sprinklers. BONNET, V., 48, Rue Etienne Desforges, Chatillonsous-Bagneux, Seine, France. July 17, 1931, No. 20517. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1930. [Class 69 (iii).] A travelling sprinkler comprises a winch rotated by a rotary sprinkler, around which is wound a cable one end of which is fixed to the ground so that winding of the winch causes displacement of the apparatus: On a frame 1, Figs. 1 and 2, carried by rollers 2 is mounted a reaction sprinkler fed from a hose 4. On the frame is mounted a winch 8 around which is wound a cable 9 provided with a hook 10. A tappet 17 on the sprinkler head engages a rod 14 pivoted at 11, and carrying a pawl 19 engaging a ratchet wheel integral with the winch. The stroke of the pawl is varied by adjusting the position of a stop 23 on a bar 25. A hold-on pawl 21 prevents return of the ratchet. The water inlet hose may be wound on a drum, Fig. 3, comprising a number of bars 29 one of which, 29a, is radially adjustable in a slot 33 to loosen the hose when wound and thus prevent jamming.
