Abstract
377,324. Bracelets &c. ; chains. TIMINGS & SON, Ltd., C. and TIMINGS, F. C., 85, Spencer Street, Birmingham. May 5, 1931, No. 13212. [Class 43.] In extensible chain such as is used for making expanding bracelets &c. each link comprises two U-shaped counterpart and interchangeable elements a each having legs a<1> disposed within open sides a<2> of the other, and a compressible spring b between the elements. Each leg is formed at the end remote from the U-bend with a hook a<3> or tongue for engaging the end coils of the spring. Each end of the spring is thus engaged by a pair of hooks and the links are connected together by interengagement of the bends of the U-shaped elements. The elements are formed from strip metal so shaped that when assembled they form a series of hollow or tubular links, as shown in Fig. 4.
