377,142. Angular bending. MANNESMANNRÍHRENWERKE, 1B, Berger Ufer, Dusseldorf, Germany. March 31, 1932, No. 9328. Convention date, May 16, 1931. [Class 83 (iv).] Mandrels; tube expanders.-Bends are formed in tubes by expanding and bending operations, the tube being expanded before it is bent. A mandrel a secured at b is provided with an enlarged head whose lower side is curved to the form shown. An expanded portion is formed on the end of the tube which is clamped by a member c against the former d. The head of the mandrel is placed within the expanded portion, and the former d is rotated to expand the tube over the enlarged mandrel head and then form the bend.
