Abstract
376,902. Insulators. STEATITE & PORCELAIN PRODUCTS, Ltd. and HALTON, G. H., Mount Villa, both in Stourport, Worcestershire. May 27, 1931, No. 15539. [Class 36]. To prevent deposition of dirt &c. on a suspension or other insulator a for outdoor use and to ensure efficient cleaning of the insulator by rain and wind, the outer face of the insulator is formed with a downwardly-inclined V-shaped helical groove a1 having its inner wall a6 extending above its outer wall a5 so that a pointed ridge a7 is formed between adjacent convolutions of the groove. In a modified construction, the insulator is provided with three nested helical grooves each making more than one complete turn round the insulator and formed with its inner wall extending above its outer wall to form a pointed ridge with the outer wall of the adjacent groove above it.
