Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 37.] An electric measuring instrument is provided with sets of contact pins 3, 4 and sockets 5, 6 to which each connection within the instrument is joined in order to permit of any circuit being connected through the device. In the voltmeter, Fig. 1, the instrument connection is made to the heavy current connection between the pin 3 and socket 5 on one hand and to the connection between the pin 4 and socket 6 on the other hand, thus permitting the connection of a load through the device or insertion of the device into a plug socket. In a modification, Fig. 2, a switch 7 connects the instrument in series with the load or in parallel therewith series or shunt resistances being also connected in circuit at the same time. The arrangement is applicable to any kind of measuring instrument such as voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, frequency meters or counters and multiple measuring instruments.
