Abstract

375,540. Felt ; compound fabrics. SLADDIN, A. G., of Sladdin & Sons, Ltd., Lightcliffe Road, Brighouse, Yorkshire. June 19, 1931, No. 17759. [Classes 42 (ii) and 140.] Felt consists of two or more webs each composed of a number of layers one of which, A, is treated with an adhesive C such as size. The layer A is of cotton or other fibres which will readily absorb the adhesive and the other layers B may be wool, cowhair, jute, &c. Each web is passed over a roller dipping into the adhesive and then to a drying oven or roller. Two such webs with their adhesive surfaces in contact are steamed and felted in the usual manner. More than two webs may be arranged as shown in Figs. 3 and 4.
