Abstract
375,229. Embossing processes. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Jan. 27, 1932, No. 2494. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1931. [Class 100 (ii).] In forming lenticular films by casting on a lenticular colloid film, and to enable the curvature of the lenticular elements to be controlled, the colloid casting surface is made by first treating it with a swelling agent before impressing it with a die, such as a roller helically wound with wire as described in Specification 341,948. The die roller is preferably warmed. The colloid may be gelatine, a cellulose ester or ether, or a resin. In the case of a cellulose derivative film, the lenticular casting surface may be wholly or partially regenerated to cellulose by the method described in Specifica- .tion 279,047, [Class 2 (ii), Cellulose &c.].
