[Class 138 (i).] Means for delivering bottles to and from a rinsing machine comprise a bottle support 8 which is adapted to be reciprocated vertically, in its uppermost position being level with rails 6 supporting bottles in the machine, and in its lowermost position being on a level with a supply plate 10 and a delivery conveyer 21. The bottles 2 are passed through the machine 1 by bottle carriers 3 moved along guides 4 by toothed wheels 5. The support 8 is adapted to be reciprocated by means of a cam disc on a shaft 26 carrying also cam discs adapted to actuate push plates 14, 25. The plate 14 on its movement towards the left, Fig. 1, tilts a bottle support 16 whereby a number of bottles C fall on to the plate 10. On the reverse movement of the plate 14, the bottles C are pushed on to the support 8 to be subsequently raised through the gap 7, and transported through the machine 1 by the operation of the wheels 5. Bottles moved from a position H to a position F are lowered by the support 8 and passed to the conveyer 21 by the movement of the push plate 25, which is slotted to permit passage of the rod 9. This plate may cooperate with the plate 14 in guiding the bottles from the position D to the position E. The carriers 3 may be given continuous or step-bystep motion. The bottles instead of being delivered by the apparatus shown may be delivered by electric means.
