Abstract
Lactoserum suitable for general use and for injection is prepared from skimmed cows' milk by adding a pure culture from the lactic fermentation of cow's milk, then adding rennet to produce curd separating the whey, heating the whey in an autoclave to 114 DEG C. to free it from lactoproteins, filtering at 100 DEG C. and sterilizing at 112 DEG C. in the absence of air. Prior to sterilization the filtrate may be subjected to tryptic digestion.
