Abstract

374,147. Extruding casein &c. ERINOID, Ltd. and LEGGAT, A., 58, Coleman Street, London. March 6, 1931, No. 7075. [Class 87 (ii).] Rods of casein &c. having a cross section which is multicoloured, are made by extruding material of one colour through a chamber 3, passages 10, and nozzles 17, material of another colour being extruded through a chamber 4, passages 14, and nozzles 17, the adjacent streams then being compacted by the taper 19 of the die 18. The block 11 has two sets of parallel grooves 12 which intersect, forming projections 13 through which pass the passages 10 communicating with the chamber 3, the passages 14 communicating with the chamber 4 by way of the grooves 12. The block 11 may be cast or machined, and the projections 13 may be in the form of screwed nipples. The passages 17 may be of triangular, square, &c. cross section and are greater in cross section than the passages 10, 14.
