330,049. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and McCombe, G. F. April 5, 1929. Extrusion machines. -In machines for extruding tubes, the cleavage effect produced bv the arms of the spider &c. 3 supporting the core 1, is nullified by an increased flow of material in the line of such arms, between the spider and die aperture 8. As shown, the increased flow is caused by flats or depressions 7 in line with the spider arms. The depressions terminate just short of the aperture 8. Alternatively, or in addition, the depressions may be formed on the die member 2.
