Abstract

373,153. Control of motors. COLLARO, C., 111, Sutherland Avenue, and COLLARO, Ltd., Culmore Works, Culmore Road, Peckham, both in London. Feb. 16, 1931, No. 4924. [Class 38 (iii).] Operating on different supply circuits.-A variable coupling for connecting the windings of an induction motor in series or parallel for use on different voltages, comprises a set of four terminals 4 .. 7 having spring contact studs that engage strips 14, 15, 16 on the under surface of a cover-plate 12. The mains are connected to the terminals 4, 7 and in one position of the cover the strips 14, 15 bridge the pairs of studs 4, 5 and 6, 7 connecting the windings in parallel. The cover is rotatable on a central screw 18 and when turned through 180‹ the strip 16 bridges the studs 5, 6, connecting the windings in series. Projections 19, 20 locate the cover correctly. A leaf spring switch is interposed between the mains and one terminal 4.
