[Class 108 (i).] In the vehicle body-work described in the parent Specification alternative forms of flexible joints are described. In Fig. 1 showing the connection of a pillar l<1> with the floor a<1> the rubber 2 is enclosed in a casing 1 secured to the floor, the rubber being without initial deformation. A pin 3 with end enlargement 3a and sleeve 3b is provided secured through plates 6 to the pillar l<1> a nut 4 being provided to compress the rubber 2. In another form rubber prisms 23, 24 are secured in a casing 21 and cover 26 so arranged as to give compression to the prisms. The casing and cover are secured to the pillar while the floor a<1> is jointed to the pillar by the bracket 22, the prisms 23, 24 being partially out of contact with the walls of the casing and cover. A buffer 25 is provided. In other forms the rubber may be initially compressed radially and extended longitudinally or vulcanized or otherwise caused to adhere to the enclosing casing. Fig. 8 shows the front of a roof secured to the windscreen header, the roof comprising parallel beams 11, 12 at the front and part of the joint being secured by casing 15 to the beam 12 while the pin 18 is carried by a bracket 14 on the header r. Three such joints in axial alignment are provided.
