Convention date, Nov. 20, 1930. [Class 29.] Absorption machines. - In machines having an air-cooled absorber 14 located in a flue 12 at one side of a refrigerating cabinet, as shown in plan view, the gills or fins 17 on the absorber are set parallel to the axis of the absorber and to the walls of the flue, so that the depth of the flue is substantially no more than the narrowest dimension of the absorber. The machine may be of the inert gas type with a generator 13 within the flue and a gas heat exchanger 15 extending into the cabinet. The fins may be of copper soldered on to the iron absorber vessel, or of aluminium and clamped to the absorber, or formed as part of an aluminium casting mounted on the absorber.
