372,203. Radiators for heating buildings. BURGESS, A. F., 10, New Court, Lincoln's Inn, London.-(Universal Pipe & Radiator Co. ; 420, Lexington Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Aug. 28, 1931, No. 24249. [Class 64 (ii).] A radiator comprises a chamber with bottom, top, front, and rear walls of one piece of sheet metal joined in the top wall and with ends 4 secured by flanges 4<1> in the body and with steam inlet and outlet, combined with a corrugated sheet metal member 5 fastened at the bends directly against the front of the chamber and forming vertical ducts for air circulation. The corrugations are flattened where attached e.g. by welding to the chamber. Several horizontal cross strips 7 are welded to the outer corrugations, the top strip having a transverse perforated horizontal extension 7<1> attached to the top wall. Non-rusting thin sheet metal such as aluminium is used. The lowest strip 8 may be formed with legs or may extend slightly over the bottom of the corrugations.
