Abstract
371,664. Two - way transmission. LIGNES TELEGRAPHIQUES ET TELEPHONIQUES, 26, Rue de la PÚpiniÞre, Paris. June 9, 1931, No. 16825. Convention date, July 3, 1930. [Class 40 (iv).] Each path of a four-wire system is effectively short-circuited when speech is passing in the other path by shunt-connected coils 3, the impedance of which is reduced owing to the saturation of the core 4 by rectified speech currents in coil 5. The control action may be ratarded by a further coil 7 short-circuited through a variable resistance 8, or by delay networks in the circuit of coil 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also an arrangement, Fig. 2 (Cancelled), in which the short-circuiting of each path is effected by a discharge tube 9 rendered conducting when speech occurs in the other path by the potential produced across a resistance 11. A condenser 12 delays the control action. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
