Abstract
371,277. Package ties. EMERY, G. W., 2535, Wabash Street, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Sept. 29, 1931, No. 27117. [Class 44.] A package tie to which a cord 6 is attached by a knot 6a has two slots k, f set at an angle to one another, the latter having a V- shaped end and the outer boundaries of the slots being raised to allow the cord to pass easily under the tie. The centre is dished both to fit the thumb and to raise the tie from the package. The cord is passed longitudinally round the package, under the tie, and over the initial portion of the cord. It is then passed laterally round the package and into the slot f. The free end of the cord is then drawn under the spade portion h into the slot k and in so doing it draws the cord portion 6f with it into the slot where the portion 6f, lies above the free end and locks it as shown in Fig. 2B.
