This invention relates to new and useful improvements in combination novelty tools.

An object of the invention comprehends a tool body shaped to provide a shoe horn.

Another object of the invention comprehends the provision of a button hook upon the tool body.

More specifically stated the button hook is shaped in such manner that accidental displacement of the button therefrom is obviated.

With the above and other objects in View, the invention further consists of the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and pointed out in the appended claims.

In the drawing Figure 1 is a perspective View of my complete invention.

Figure 2 is an elevation of the button hook.

Figure 3 is an elevation of the shoe horn.

Figure 1 is a detail horizontal sectional View taken on the line 4: 1 of Figure 1.

Referring to the drawing in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts the reference character 10 indicates generally the body portion of a tool having a concaved portion 11 adjacent the enlarged end thereof to provide an elongated channel. The channel portion of the body is used as a shoe horn to guide the heel within the shoe and to preserve the counters thereof. The opposite and reduced end of the shank 12 of the body 10, having inwardly and oppositely tapering side edges, terminate for connection with ears 13, the purpose of which will be presently apparent.

A button hook, generally designated, as at A, comprises a length of wire bent upon itself to provide an elongated loop 1 1. Arms 15 inwardly and oppositely converging from the ends of the Wire forming the 1256 are formed as continuations of outwardly flared legs 16.

The ears 13 upon the shank 12 of the body 10 are rolled about and upon the legs 16 which are shaped to conform to the tapering side edges of the shank, and to prevent displacement of the elongated loop portion of the button hook.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2 of the drawing, the space between the arms of the wire, subsequent to the formation of the elongated loop 17 are spaced further apart at the point of connection of the arms 15 therewith to facilitate insertion of a button therebetween. When the button hook is employed then the shoe horn will provide a handle therefor, and which, due to the specific shape thereof, will prove most effective for this purpose inasmuch as the hand will not easily slip therefrom. After the button has been inserted between the arms of the elongated loop, the handle or horn is drawn whereby the button will slide within the loop and the arms therefor will engage the under side of the button and guide same toward the closed end of the loop. When the button reaches the end of the loop, the the same in conjunction with the loop, are drawn through the adjacent button hole. The button hook is then shifted in an opposite direction and the button will be again disposed in the wider space between the arms of the loop and engage the adjacent side of the flap of the shoe having the but ton hole.

Obviously the button hook will in turn provide a handle for the horn while in use.

The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claims.

Having thns described the invention, what is claimed is 1- 1. As a new article of manufacture, a combined shoe horn and shoe buttoner comprising a body, said body being concaved for an appreciable distance in the length thereof to provide the shoe horn, and a closed loop forming the button'er being carried upon the end of the body in oppositely disposed relation to the horn to provide a handle therefor.

2. As a new article of manufacture, a

combined shoe buttoner and shoe horn comprising a body conoaved for an appreciable distance in the length thereof to provide a horn, ears carried upon the body in oppo- 5 sitely disposed relation to the horn proper, and the buttoner consists of a loop having legs encased by said ears to provide an extension handle for the horn.

3. As a new article of manufacture, a 10 combined shoe buttoner and shoe horn eomprising a body concaved for an appreciable distance in the length thereof to provide a horn, ears carried upon the body in oppositely disposed relation to the horn proper, 15 the buttoner consists of a loop having legs enclosed by said ears to provide an extension handle for the horn, and arms carried by the loop and legs and inwardly directed therefrom to provide an entrance opening at 2 the intersection of the loop therewith to dispose the legs in conformity with the disposition of said ears.
