370,829. Flushing non-contact closets and latrines. LEVICK, Ltd., J. and LEVICK, J., 149, Alma Street, Aston, Birmingham. Oct. 2, 1931, No. 27404. [Class 26.] A latrine of the type having a squatting platform 1, Figs. 1 and 2, is flushed from one or more upstanding and apertured boxes connected to a source of water supply 12. The platform is provided with a rim 2 and slopes downwardly to a central outlet or to a channelshaped hopper 3 leading to an outlet; on either side of the hopper &c. are arranged the flushing boxes, each of which may comprise a studded, ribbed, &c. plate 5, serving as a foot-rest and having an integral, depending flange 6, provided with downwardly-inclined apertures 14 and resting upon a shoulder 8 of a raised member 9 integral with the platform 1, a washer 7 and screws 10 being provided. The studded &c. portions of the foot-rests may be integral with, or attached to, the plates 5, which may be flat so as to seat upon an upstanding wall on the member 9, and are secured thereto by screws, studs, &c. fitted from above or below.
