Abstract
368,522. Milk churns &c. AKTIESELSKABET FREDERIKSBERG METALVAREFABRIK, 10, Nitivej, Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. March 11, 1931, No. 7523. Convention date, July 23, 1930. [Class 66.] A metal container, e.g. a milk churn, is formed with a bottom thickening 5 for the subsequent attachment of a foot ring 3 by drawing the cup 7 on a mandrel 8 through a die 6, the reduced end 9 of the mandrel forming an internal corner thickening as in Fig. 3 which is converted to an external thickening 5 by pressing in the walls above the thickening as in Fig. 4 by the roller 11 and mandrel 12 or by pressing the inverted cup in its holder 13 through a die 14 with clearance for the swelling as in Fig. 6. If a thickened top edge also is required the wall thinning caused by the edge 10 of the die 6 in Fig. 3 or by other dies in stages is stopped near the top to leave the thicker part unthinned.
