368,081. Galvanic batteries. DEIBEL, C. P., 18176, Clifton Road, and WAITT, W. G., 13464, Clifton Boulevard, both in Lakewood, Ohio, U.S.A. March 16, 1931, No. 8071. Convention date, March 15, 1930. [Class 53.] The upper end of the central electrode 2 of a dry cell is impregnated with oil to prevent ingress of air but to allow gas to escape under excessive pressure within the cell. A perforated metal cap 9 may cover the electrode which may be made of carbon. The upper portion of the depolarizing mix 3 may also be impregnated with oil. A liner 4 separates the depolarizer from the zinc can and washers 5, 6 may be provided to form an expansion chamber. The upper end of the zinc can which may be perforated is bent over as shown at 7 to interlock with the sealing material 12. Specification 367,914 is referred to.
