Abstract

367,945. Window blinds. BROOKE, A., 37, Ford Street, Coventry. Dec. 5, 1930, No. 36686. [Class 52 (v).] The operating cord of a spring roller blind, e.g. for the rear window of a motor vehicle, is attached to a member slidably arranged within or on a fixed guide member provided with a spring catch or detent to automatically engage the sliding member which can be readily disengaged by a sharp pull. In the construction shown the end of the operating cord d is attached to a slide a arranged in a guide b provided at one end with a spring clip e which frictionally holds the slide a when the blind is drawn. The holding strength of the clip e may be adjusted by a screw-operated wedge between the arms of the clip. The slide has a finger-piece c. According to the Provisional Specification the cord is attached to a sleeve slidable on a tube and the spring catch consists of spring-pressed plunger &c. or a V-shaped blade spring protruding through a hole in the tube into a notch in the sleeve.
