367,211. Linear-dimension gauges. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, London, and CARR, F. R., of Dunlop Rubber Co., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. March 19, 1931, No. 8450. [Class 106 (ii).] A device for measuring the sizes of pipes especially of hose pipes comprises a substantially triangular plate having a graduated notched edge and datum edges 1, 2. In the example shown, the datum edges are at right-angles to one another and the sides of the notches are parallel to the datum edges. The sizes represented by the distances between the sides 3 of the notches and the one parallel datum edge 1 are intermediate between the sizes represented by the distances between the other sides 4 of the notches and their parallel datum edge 2. In the example the sizes proceed in eighths of an inch and the steps on each side differ by twice the " pitch " or by one quarter of an inch.
