[Class 46.] In travelling band filters or screens for liquids and solids, comprising interconnected perforated or mesh plates, the plates are formed in sections having terminal fl a n g e s secured together to form stiffening ribs. The plates a are connected by angle brackets f to links c forming chains connected by transverse bars or tubes b, which are provided with rollers d running on guides e. The plates a are made in halves with flanges g riveted together. The front edges of the plates have sealing lips h to seat against the cross-bars b, the rear edges i resting against the lips h of the next plates.
