Description
Wrought iron articulated boiler for hot water and low pressure steam heating, whose links are welded together from pressed sheet metal shells. "The invention concerns a wrought iron articulated boiler for hot water and low pressure steam heating, whose links are welded together from pressed sheet metal shells. The new boiler differs from the known boilers of this type in that in the connecting openings the pocket-like upper and lower bulges of each limb are special Stiffening rings are welded in. These stiffening rings have spacer feet, which support each other when the members of the boiler are pressed together and thus Secure the walls against denting.
I of the drawing shows a front view of the boiler, halfway in vertical section. Fig. 2 shows a vertical section, partly along the lines A-A and partly according to the lines B-B of Fig. i. Fig. 3 shows a plan, partially broken off and partly in section along the line C-C and partly along the line D-D of Fig. I. Fig.q. shows a section, partly along the line E-E and partly according to the line F-F of Fig.
The individual boiler sections are made from two symmetrical shell halves a and b composed, which were created by pressing from sheet iron. At the Punching out the parts that are not used, the sheets are cut in such a way that that after the corresponding pressing above and below bulges c and d arise that form pockets in the finished boiler section, without, except for a circular one Opening to interrupt the continuous wall of the boiler section interior. the The edges of these circular openings are made by welded-on stiffening rings e reinforced, the spacer feet f have such a length that the opposing The feet of a boiler section touch each other. These spacer feet give the Wrestle a support when the boiler sections are pressed against each other with the help of the tensioning screws g and thus prevent the shell plates from buckling on their outer walls. The boiler sections composed of each two shell halves are replaced by the known nipples h connected to each other, each half in a stiffening ring e reach in. The nipples la are expediently too conical towards both ends turned off and fit to the correspondingly conical turned reinforcement rings. Before assembly, the stiffening rings are welded on at points i and h. The nipples 1i become vapor and water-tight by tightening the clamping screws g dressed.
