Abstract

[Class 120 (ii).] Twist tubes for wet twisting are provided with smoothing elements in the form of leatherfaced discs, which rotate with the twist tube and are themselves mounted so as to be slowly rotated by the passage of the yarn. The wharl a of the twist tube has a bracket b carrying a disc c which is made of or faced with leather. The disc is mounted so as to be capable of slow rotation and may be swept by the threads d on its periphery or on an end face ; or two discs may be adjustably mounted on the same pin f and the threads passed between them.
