Abstract

366,754. Imitation suede leather. BETAMBEAU, W., 4, Powell Road, Clapton, London. March 4, 1931, No. 6701. [Classes 42 (ii) and 140.] Imitation suede leather is made by applying a coating of powdered cotton or other fibre to a woven fabric base in known manner and then applying to the back of the fabric a coating of rubber or a rubber composition in a liquid state. The rubber composition may be sprayed on or applied in any suitable manner. The powdered cotton or like coating on the face side of the fabric is preferably sprayed on after applying an adhesive to the fabric. The coated fabric may be passed under a roller which imparts a grain to the rubber coating.
