Abstract
366,724. Printing transfer compositions. SUPLIGEAU, C. L. H., 76, Avenue Pierre Larousse, Malakoff, and GUYOT, R, R. J., 34, Rue de Clamart, Chatillon-s-Bagneux, Seine, both in France. Feb. 7, 1931, No. 3960. Convention date, Feb. 14, 1930. [Classes 100 (ii) and 100 (iv).] In a rotary machine for applying heated transfer composition of the carbon-paper type in defined areas on paper sheets or webs an intaglio printing-surface is used. In the arrangement shown, an intaglio cylinder 4 provided with a scraper 14 is supplied with heated composition from a bath 3 by rollers 7, 8, 9. The bath 3 is provided with double walls 6 for heating fluid and provision may be made for heating the rollers 7, 8, 9. The impression cylinder 5 and the delivery parts of the machine may be cooled. The sheets may be printed on one side and coated with copying material on the other, and the two processes may occur separately or simultaneously. The transfer composition employed preferably consists of carnauba wax 7 parts, refined montan wax 3 parts, and white petroleum jelly 14 parts, together with colouring matter.
