Abstract

366,214. Heel and foot-arch supports. MARCELLE, I. J., 35, Colborne Street, Toronto, Canada. Dec. 15, 1930, No. 37707. [Class 81 (ii).] A thin sheet of flexible leather ], shaped to the heel of the boot or shoe and extending forwardly, has a sheet 2 secured to the underside thereof, by central and transverse lines of stitches 4, 3 ; a wedge-shaped pad 5 is secured between the sheets 1, 2 on one side of the heel, and a second pad 6, of sponge rubber or other resilient material, is secured to the underside of the sheet 2. The pad 6 is of generally rounded form and has a, central concavity 7 serving to secure the appliance by suction and to form an air cushion. The forward portion of the sheet 1 has a triangular sheet 8, Fig. 2, secured to the underside thereof by stitching 9 to form an open-ended pocket into which a metatarsal pad 10 may be inserted.
