365,195. Supports for signs. LAVERS, R. J., ORR, F. A., Hamilton Garages, Sidford, Sidmouth, Devon, BURTON, H. H., BARRETT, A. G., and LEICESTER RUBBER CO., Ltd., Evington Valley Mills, Leicester. Oct. 21, 1930, No. 31503. [Class 3 (ii).] Relates to a detachable mounting for vehicle identification plates, particularly those used in demonstrating an unlicensed car, and consists in the provision of a flexible rubber or like backing plate having an integral inturned flange a<3> forming a cavity a<4> into which the plate b is sprung, a metallic stiffening plate or frame d also being sprung into the cavity. This plate may be provided with hook members c, rubber covered if desired, which project through slots in the cavity and serve to attach the device to the vehicle. In alternative forms, the hooks c may be of rubber, cast integrally with the rubber back-plate and used in conjunction with rubber straps, and the stiffening means may consist simply of a wire or other frame fitting within the cavity a<4>. The plates b have either a triangular projection at the top, as shown, or else a rectangular one, and the device is made to hold either of these forms ; this may be done in the manner shown or else by replacing the top triangular portion p of the holder by a slot in the edge e.
