Abstract

364,824. Measuring and pouring devices. THOMAS. J. W., Trafalgar Hotel, Swansea. Dec. 29, 1930, No. 39026. [Class 125 (iii).] Means for securing a tap to a bottle &c. 9, including in combination with a tap 4, having a fixed inlet pipe 3, a centrally apertured cap 1, for placement over the inlet pipe and over the mouth of the bottle, and a sleeve 6 for engagement over the inlet pipe, serving to secure the elements together, is characterized in that the sleeve is slidably engaged over the inlet pipe, a nut 8 bearing directly against the sleeve to lock the parts together. The cap 1 may be of the lever crown cork type, shown in the Figure, or it may be internally or externally screw-threaded. Washers 2, 11 are preferably used. In a modification, the sleeve is formed with an integral flange portion which beds within the cap, the lower end of the sleeve extending through it. The sleeve and cap may be made as a unitary structure ; or, alternatively, the sleeve may be formed in two portions attached to a separate cap.
