Abstract
364,332. Organ stop actions. COMPTON, J. H., 37, Audley Road, Ealing, London. Dec. 30, 1930, No. 39207. Addition to 258,068, [Class 88 (ii), Music &c.]. [Class 88 (ii).] Relates to organ stop-heads as in the parent Specification wherein a spring-returned stop-head (preferably having an electric lamp indicating " on " or " off ") at each actuation makes a contact which by a reversing mechanism alternately puts into and out of action a stop, ventil, &c., and consists in rendering the stop-head operable in two degrees, the first for reversing the stop-action, and the second for reversing such other stop-actions of the same group as may be in operative position. The stop-head is spring-returned to its normal position after each operation whether to the first or second degree. Pressure on the stop-head A (which carries a contact rod D) to the first degree compresses only the spring C and completes a circuit from battery H through contacts E, F to solenoid I operating reversing mechanism J which either closes the contact L rendering the stop operative through the magnetic device M, or opens the contact L breaking the circuit through the device M and rendering the stop inoperative. The lamp O is in a parallel circuit with the device M. Pressure on the stop-head A to the second degree compresses also the stronger spring W and completes a further circuit from battery H through contacts E, G to a solenoid Q which closes a set of contacts T, T1, ... The contacts T, T1, .. are respectively connected to the contacts corresponding to the contact U of the other stops forming the group, and if these contacts are standing closed so that the stops are operative, current flows through the solenoids I of these other stops back to the common battery H, thus rendering them inoperative.
