Abstract

363,075. Couplings. VEREINIGTE ALUMINIUM-WERKE AKT.-GES., Lautawerk, Lausitz, Germany. Nov. 6, 1930, No. 33425. Convention date, Feb. 17. [Class 38 (i).] A joint between conductors of aluminium or its alloys is made by applying to the adjacent surfaces a paste containing filings or chips of a metal that will penetrate the film of oxide present on the surfaces. A paste of paraffin, petroleum jelly, tallow, &c. with powdered graphite or carbon may be employed and the filings &c. may be of a metal harder than the conductors. The conductors have flanges for bolting together.
