Abstract

362,896. Firing bricks &c. FOURMENT & LADUREE, 8, Rue de Bienfaisance, Paris. June 7, 1930, No. 17747. Convention date, June 22, 1929. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 51 (ii).] Shaft furnaces; discharging.- Bricks, and ceramic and other products, are fired in a shaft kiln from which the baked products are withdrawn at intervals after having been cooled by the inflowing air for combustion. The kiln shown is heated by gas from a producer 2 supplied through ports 3 and burnt with air which enters at the base of the kiln, and through passages 13. The waste gases escape through off takes 14. The charge is supported on a grate 6, which can be raised and lowered by screws 7, and when the kiln is used for bricks or fragile products, the charge is arranged so that bars can be inserted between the articles at the level 8 to act as a temporary support while fired articles are being removed.
