Abstract

360,016. Harvesting-machines. BRISTOWE, F., Hall Farm, Cranwell Village, Lincolnshire. July 29, 1930, No. 22775. [Class 6 (iii).] The outside divider comprises a rear portion a and a fore portion b hinged at c to the rear portion in a vertical plane, the hinged joint c being preferably arranged adjacent the finger bar e. A horizontal bar f is secured to the point of the divider and extends rearwardly beyond the joint c. A slot in the bar f accommodates a guide bolt h extending from the finger bar e. The rear end of the bar f is bent outwardly and a cable or cord j secured to its extremity, such cord being carried to a hand or foot lever within reach of the operator. A spring k returns the fore part of the divider into line with the rear part after it has been swung outwardly by pulling the cord. A step by step actuation of the forepart of the divider may be provided by fitting a gate control on the cord lever. The outward movement of the divider may be effected by a spring ; in this case it is returned to normal position by the cord. The fore part of the divider may be arranged to fold back on the rear portion for transport.
