[Class 52 (ii).] A device for exercising b e d - ridden patients comprises a rectangular frame adjustably and detachably secured to a bedstead against which the patient's feet may be pressed and exercised. The exercising frame d may be adjustably connected by rods e .. h of varying length to a frame a rigidly attached to the foot of the bed and carries footboards k, l attached by spring clips m and detachable cross-bars o. The cross-bars may be rotatably mounted in sleeves or ball bearings or alternatively rollers s may be mounted thereon on which the feet may be exercised. In a modification, Fig. 2, the lower corners of the frame a may be adjustably clamped to the bedstead and the upper cross-bar connected to the foot of the bed by a single strut a<1> adjustably connected thereto and held at the lower end by a crutch b<1> and spring c<1>. Fig. 4 shows means for attaching a frame to the bed frame which comprise a plate t clamped between nuts v, v and carrying at its lower end a chain w adjustable by a screw z, the outer end of which carries a pin x engaging stops y.
