Abstract
358,327. Structural metal panels. JUNKERS, H., 21, Kaiserplatz, Dessau, Anhalt, Germany. Nov. 7, 1930, No. 33551. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1929. [Classes 20 (iii), 20 (iv), and 87 (i).] Hollow sheet-metal panel-like e structural members consist of two plates, one at least being convex on the outside and formed with the longitudinal edges curved to a small radius. Figs. 2, 3, 5 and 7 show various forms of members. In Fig. 2, one plate 2 is flat and soldered or welded to the convex plate 1. In Fig. 3, the plates 1 and 2 are formed from a single sheet which is extended and soldered to the next panel. The plate 2 in Fig. 2 may be similarly extended. In Fig. 5, both plates are convex, and in Fig. 7 one is concave. The panels, may be stiffened internally or externally by channel or angle bars, and adjacent panels may be hingedly connected, one panel serving as a door.
